I waas drivin' around the other day and all of a sudden CLANKETY CLANK CLANK!!! It sounded like an aluminum can was caught in my flywheel! I pulled the inspection cover and there in the bottom was a round piece of metal about the size of a quater (all beat up). Its got a small hole in the middle and a little tab on one side that lookes like it was torn off. I'm trying to figure out what it was, if I could figure out how to post a picture I'll put one up.
Anyone know what this mystery piece is?
Bryan

I just found the end of my previous starter in there. It was a 1 x 1 x 1.5 inch block of aluminum all rounded and ground up. I'm thinking that is the noise I've been hearing, and not my throwout bearing :) .

Here is a shot (i hope) of the mystery piece next to a quarter for reference.
Anyone have any ideas?
