Mystery Hose

Went to change out my headlight bulbs today and found a small section of hose just laying next to the passenger side headlight by the bottom of the air box. It wasn't connected to anything. One end looks to have been cut, but the other looks untouched. I'm probably about the 3rd owner so who knows what happened here.

Anyone know what this might be or where it would have been originally so I can see if it was just replaced? Didn't see anything under the hood with the same bends.

Looks like the nipple is broken off in the upper end of the hose in the photo.

Yep. That end is cut or broken off. Any idea where this hose is supposed to go?

Look at your vacuum regulator on top of thw powersteering pump/front rh side of the head. Looks like it could be one of the two plastic nipples. I want to say the other end connects to the airbox/tube. I dont have my 100 with me so I can't check for you.

@ton504 I think you nailed it if this pic is indeed the vacuum regulator. One of those nipples is broken off completely and the other has no hose connected. Truck seems to run fine. What exactly would having both of those disconnected do? Rough idle?

Bump - Seems weird that the truck would run great with all of this disconnected. Just curious if it's ok to drive until I can get it fixed and what to look out for here...

Not sure what it does but I'm just guessing here, maybe it senses the vacuum and relates it to an idle speed. Your idle speed would then raise if it needs more "assist" if you going full lock?

So I bought the parts to replace the vacuum regulator, but can not get the old one off. I've tried PB Blaster, really long 17mm wrench with pipe extension. Any ideas on how to get this unstuck?

Still won't budge. Can anyone think of a reason not to just hacksaw it apart so that I can access it with a regular socket? Part of the problem seems to be having to use an open wrench.
