I went to start my 1976 fj40 and it wouldn't catch. I turned the key off then on and tried again. Then I heard a grinding noise and then the car wouldn't turn over or even make any noise. I thought it was the starter, but i replaced it and It still wont start. It made a click, but that was it. I am now thinking it may be my battery cables, but I can't find any that fit my bosch starter. Do all battery cables need to be split in order to fit my fj40? The positive has an extra lead split off of it and a flat ignition connector. I can't seem to find any that come close. I'm a cruiser newb and would appriciate the advise. Thank you.

Howdy! I have had the same problem, so I just found the closest thing that would ALMOST work, and then just modify the fittings to make it all fit. Might be a good idea to take your battery down to the parts store and have them test it for free. John
