Great!

Post up what you did to make it work, what pieces you used, and where you purchased them and any part numbers you have!

Electric fans are one of the many topics I am working on adding to the FAQ!

Your help with this thread will be greatly appreciated!

THANKS!

Worked the first freaken time. :D

Only cost me:
$35 Fan - Local Pick and Pull
$60 Big Relay - ST85 - Napa
$19.95 - "Fan Relay Kit" - Advance Auto Parts
$14.95 - Extra relay - Standard 40A light relay - Advance Auto Parts
$19.99 - Adjustable temp controller and probe. - JC Whitney
$30 - Odd and ends - connectors - tape - cable management

Comes on @ 185, high kicks in @~220. Everything hooked to the battery so no key intervention ect...

Does anyone with a taurus fan notice how little these things come on? It has been cool in Colorado, but it came on 4 times on my way to work. Approx 20 minutes of some highway and lots of stop and go. I was amazed. Puts alot more in the pedal too.

I will try and post up my schematic later.

will you post up more on how you wired it. thats probably the hardest part. like a quick schematic or something. it would be greatly appreciated i'm sure. As the easy parts putting it in the hard parts getting it to work right. I know its alot to ask but i quick sketch on the paint program would go a million miles for people like me.

you did a great job man keep up the good work

i would love a faq on this i have the tuarus fan laying on the bench , but i'm holding off on installing it until i can figure out or understand what everybody is talking about with all the wiring and relays they are using , can't i just wire it in with a relay and a toggle switch on the dash ,and only run it using the high speed ? doesn't the t-stat , regulate the temp of the engine , if i leave the fan running on high speed all the time ,won't the engine just take longer to heat up , eventually it will get up to operating temp. the mechanical fan spins all the time , no low or high spee setting , confused , i thought i could just turn it on away i go . ??

Tarus fan

Can I get some help with a wiring harness diagram for a ford tarus electric fan. Having issues with the relys...

There are a few diagrams here if you search. I think there are a couple over on pirate 4x4's website as well. I did one once, and it's not too bad, but I can't remember off the top of my head how I did it.

Couldn't find a good setup with a fan clutch with the length of extention that I needed and I didn't have a fan shroud, so I figured I could kill two birds with one stone and go electric.

Below pic is my schematic.

Excellent drawing!

THANK YOU!

Combined these threads…seemed fitting.

I have a aux fan hooked up to a toggle switch. I just use it when I'm in the desert. I't seems to cool realy well. Just for kicks how hot is to hot for a chevy 350. Mine seems to run between 180 and 210.

Put a Flexalite dual fan setup in my 94 Chevy truck. I had it dynoed after, It freed up 30 horsepower. I can definitely feel that in the throttle!

sweet thanks man.

i'm looking around on the net for a some deals on 80 amp relays like yours...here one http://offroadrecovery.zoovy.com/product/00301

http://www.americanautowire.com/products/Relay_Kits_and_Fan_Switches.cfm

Sweet, those are some good deals, where were you a couple of months ago when I was putting this together? I like.

Between 180 and 210 sounds right for a caburated V8, I think the FI stuff runs hotter, like 210+ or something. I will be doing the FI swap in the near future and will have to find out.

so in your design you used three different relay? what amps were they rated at?
what all came in the "fan relay kit"?

where was the adjustable therm mounted ?
where was the fixed therm. mounted?
