Are the factory windscreen blades different sizes?

What about trying these bad boys?

Try these...

Put a set of these (http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/valeo/ultimate.jsp) on my BMW and so far they are great. I love the frameless look and there is no wiper chatter at 120 mph! (Not really a problem for the LC - maybe for lxtreme:) ). I used the Anco Winter blades on the LC, but plan to go with the Valeo when these wear out.

P.S. Tire Rack still has a buy one get one free ($20.00 total).

Ah, but how well do they stand up to the pounding Florida sun and rain? Blades here chronically deteriorate from UV exposure. It sucks :(

i installed Bosh wipers on a Corolla I owned in Florida and they worked great for a 2 years. i sold the car with the wipers on.

Unfortunately that is my experience too. The jury is still out, but after six months I would not buy another pair. I will probably try the
Silblade Winterblade next, though Silblade either makes or distributes a version of the Icon. I've had problems with wiper chatter since they were new and in wet snow the wipers ride up and over the piles they make instead of pushing off the windshield.

Maybe you should try this since chatter is usually grim buildup and not wipers?

Additional product...

Try this http://www.amaz.biz/prod-wsr.html

I have been using it for about 4 years (my side business is detailing cars). The stuff works. Apply it with a wet sponge/scotch brite pad (it is a paste and for glass use the scotch brite side), let it dry and either hose off with water or wipe off with a towel. It has always removed water spots from glass and chrome that nothing else could touch (even my buffer, razor blades & clay). Great for shower doors also. NOT FOR AUTO PAINT WATER SPOTS!!!

P.S. 14 oz. jar is $6.00 locally and lasts forever (just close the lid tight so it doesn't dry out).

We got about 6 inches of snow. On a scale of one to ten, with ten being best, I give the Bosch icon an eight. I am happy. They are worth it. :)

I got Goodyear blades at Costco (I think only $10 ea) and they look just like Silblade Flexblade w/ aero design and silicone blade.
They are working good on my cars.

The Cruiser got OEM inserts and even though they were not in direct sunlight, they did not hold up well at all.
I will be replacing with another set of Goodyears if Costco still has them.

X2 on the potato, I used to use allot before I could afford rainx ( it rains 120" plus a year here!)

How are these one piece blades working in serious winter travel? Anyone up north try them yet? We have to use specific fully booted winter blades if you want to keep going in heavy snowfall. The full rubber boot keeps them from freezing, but I've wondered if these newer blades are working. The booted ones are failproof.

Went to Autozone yesterday. picked up the ICONs for 13.00 ea. With the $15.00 rebate they are worth trying out IMO.

I think I qualify as being up north :D (We need a shiver smiley!)

I have used both the booted blade and the one piece blade designs. I just bought the one piece blades in that link last week but I used similar ones last winter. I haven't had any trouble with the one piece design even when driving for 4 hours in heavy wet snowfall. They give full coverage of the windshield and with no metal pivots to freeze up they don't leave streaks on the windshield. They do a great job of cleaning the glass in any conditions I have been in, and I tend to be very OCD about the cleanliness of my windshield! I prefer the one piece design over the booted blades simply because with a lower profile the one piece blades don't have any trouble with wind and they don't create a little "backdraft" on the return stroke that brings a little bit of snow/water back into the viewing area of the windshield. I have also had the boot on the booted blades get torn from overzealous ice scraping which renders the boot null and void.
I would definitely recommend the one piece design for winter use!

(A little trick I did this fall in preparation for winter: I wrapped the washer fluid hose around the heater hose on the exit side of the water control valve. I was able to do 5-6 wraps with some extra hose I had. So now, when the cabin heater is on in the winter it should also heat the washer fluid up which in turn should help to clean the ice and snow off the windshield. I'll report back when we have more snow as to how it works!)

An excellent idea.
