We definately need to. I'm wanting to go somewhere after christmas.

Parking used to be a competitive sport back in the early 2000's but now there's no hope after 7:30a.m.

I used the same product. I bought the tintable kind and tinted it with factory dark emerald green paint. It was very easy to apply and I do like the looks of it. I will be doing my flares on my new to me 96 Cruiser this summer when the weather gets warmer.

They are actually the XL version, as I thought the XML were a bit too aggressive for any amount of driving on the street. The size is 11.00 x 16 whci equates to around 38.5" x 11.

The U-pol sprayed on looks a lot nicer than the brush on varieties I've seen here, nice job. Curious if anyone has ever used or heard of Al's liner Al's Liner::Ultimate Automotive Coatings I've seen it advertised and everyone gives it glowing reviews. What I like about it is you work with the dealer you buy it from to get the color mixed in and matched to what you want it to be. The U Pol seems like a crapshoot as to what the color will turn out to be, although MSGGrunt's color turned out wicked I think. For instance I'm looking to spray red on my mini truck, how would I be certain it wouldn't come out some variation of pink with U Pol?

Price seems comparable to UPOL, maybe a little more. From what I have read it is the DIY version of Scorpion bed liners. I saw a post by a rep from triangle specialty coatings on Yotatech I believe, and he was giving some type of discount. Might be worth asking for a discount for mud members. I'd like to try this out on my Mini truck, anything would look better than it does now. I believe I could do the whole truck with two gallons, so it would cost me $245 plus sanding and taping supplies.

Oh and they have colors too, you just substitute the color dye for the dye that comes with the kit, pretty neat if you ask me.

I sprayed it with the free spray gun in the kit. It really couldn't be any easier with the premeasured bottles. Great system.

how did you cover the holes in the fenders? metal 3m tape?

how did you mask off your borders? metal 3m tape? how long did you leave on the tape after you sprayed before you removed the tape? most self applications i have read remove the tape before the product is dry.

bondo works best with that metal screen adhesive stuff behind the fenders.

Pull tape before it dries. if you're going to apply two coats, then double up the tape and spray one coat, then pull first layer, let dry, spray second coat, pull last layer, let dry. So there should be a layer of tape per coats anticipated.

I sprayed all five bottles and then removed the tape. It takes this stuff a while to dry. I think it would be a bad idea to leave the tape on and let the stuff dry then try to remove it.

Here's a tip:
Cory just came over and did my 96's flares and the line down the middle.
As it truns out, the humidity in the air can make the final product be alot smoother than if it's dry outside.
Mine turned out much more smooth than his... We will be spraying again with the tintable and making it dark gray, but for now, it looks great, just not as rough as Cory's is, which I wanted it like his...

It is extremely humid here right now. Most truck bedliner companys won't spray unless the humidity is relatively low. It still looks pretty good though. We will fix it.

It ain't broken! Some people would love the way mine turned out, but I want the extremely bumpy look! Right now, mines just smooth bumpy.

He actually sold this truck to MadAfrican. I will be spraying his (MadAfrican's) entire 4runner soon.

The texture depends on pressure setting and the distance sprayed from. The higher the delivery pressure the smoother the finish. The closer the gun tip is to the surface, the smoother the finish.

I found that the pressure didn't change the texture quite as much as the distance used. Next time if you are getting a smooth finish but want a ruff finish, hold the gun further away and make faster strokes.
