Yup, That is a 1" piece of steel I had laying around along with one of those pin clip thingies, But it works :hi5

I still need to grind a bit and paint obviously, But it is coming along.

I have the top put together and hopefully it will stay together... :shifty: We are leaving for Surf-N-Turf this Thurs.

I made an error when ordering aluminum, So what started out as 2 pieces of aluminum turned into 5 :thumbdown I have some good seam sealer for all the edges.

I need to get the weatherstripping put on but things are coming together.

Like I mentioned, I hope it stays together and I wont have to take it all apart.

We may turn the tent so it opens to the side, But we will give it a shot like this first.
I even built another tow mount for the 40 which I still need to paint.

Looks great! I wanted to have my tent come off the front but then I wouldn't be able to use my shower room... Thought about the back, but I haven't planned for landing legs back there, so I thought it may get tippy. For the first run I suggest bringing lots of 2x4 scraps, props legs raise wheels, temp bracing under the back end of the trailer, pseudo hammer... Endless uses.

I'm looking forward to the shake down report.

thanks for the thoughts, Our first run with it fully equiped will be in 3 days with lots of sand, I have a few trailer jacks I may get around to putting on before we go, But its hard to say.

I'm excited for you that you can take it on such a cool event...

I'm thinking on making it next year if I can find someone to split the drive...sounds like a real party!

Take lots of pics...the top looks great!

Good luck and have a blast!!

Pat

Now I cant get the pins for the lid to fit through the holes to lock the lid down... BOOOO :thumbdown

Maybe I missed it, but what are the dimensions of the box? Thats a cool trailer, very good job!

P.S. dont forget to flip the ring over the post on those "pin clip thingies" lol

The outside is 4x6' with 18" sides.
I would L O V E to flip the ring over the pin, But I can no longer get the pin through the hole with the new weather stripping. :hillbilly:

You have just solved my problem of getting my top secured after I changed to a swing out gate. The pin idea is perfect! Now I can pin the top down, lock the tire carrier and everything is secure. Perfect, thanks.

Glad to oblige

I need to fix mine so I can latch it.
But it traveled well, 1700 miles and no issues.

Small update, I just uncovered it from the Winter storage.

Obviously I still need to paint them, But its a start, With Cruise Moab just around the corner, I need to get ready for the Overnighter

Nice looking trailer! Quick question... did you make the mud flaps from a sheet of rubber or purchase them precut? Thanks.

Thanks.

I used a semi truck mudflap, Cut in half, Cut them to fit, I used some exhaust hanger hardware to mount them.

Also the reason they are bent back, It is stored with the tongue up, Just an FYI.
