Short video from The Maze District Trip


There was a backpacking "hitchhiker" of sorts that we gave a ride to from the Maze Overlook to the area near the Golden Stairs. He shot this video and shared it with us.

The Flint Trail switchbacks had just enough room for me to maneuver the trailer without much backing. I think it was the Z turn that killed my Lock-N-Roll coupler when I had to back up to make the turns. I think that if you have spotters they have to watch your coupler for binding rather than just watch for the trailer hitting the back of your tow vehicle.







The big pin on the right was loose enough to rotate. I was able to tow the trailer home which is a testament to the strength of the materials. I have since purchased a Max Coupler and hope that it does well.

Seems to be a problem with those L+R's...although I heard they redesigned them.

I've had the Max Coupler for 3 years with no issues (albeit no switchbacks)

I'm sure the trip report pictures are being loaded as we speak...

I also had a chance to tow a trailer with a 6 Ton mil spec Pintle & Lunette and I was impressed at the minimal noise.

I hope that the Max Coupler does well on my trailer too!
