SILVER Star
My fiancé's (see my first My New Addition thread) Pathfinder transmission died a few weeks ago so she needed a newer, more reliable vehicle. So, I decided to find her something that we can both enjoy and that had future mod potential for myself.
After many hours of searching I found her a 1999 100-series with low miles (a little under 112k) and a Toyota rear locker (for me) that is literally mint inside and out. I got a good deal since it was used for a trade-in at high-end luxury used car lot and they apparently had no use for it since it wasn't brandishing the PPM emblem. I think I lucked up this time (compared to my FJ40 issues) and I couldn't find any mechanical issues, leaks, etc.
Besides minor cosmetic blemishes for a 12 year Land Cruiser, the only thing that I could find was that the sway bar bushings has popped off at some point. While doing some research while the dealership was doing the paperwork and I found that this was common for the 100-series and that there is a mod from Slee to fix this. I have been driving the truck for the past several days and haven't really noticed anything on the road, so I assume that it would be ok for Summer to drive until I can get the parts. Thoughts, safety concerns?
We are both excited about the purchase and I am looking forward to wheelin' it one day...once 100-series mods come down in price...
