so.... what is the pay load capacity of the flat deck?

The cab chassis/troopie is good for a gross mass of 3330kg and the CC has a mass of 2335kg with tray so that leaves 995kg pay load for the current V8 model but the 75 and 79 series is close to that. The toyota OEM alloy tray(made by Unicorn and very nice;) ) is about 200kg,so if you built a camper without a tray you could have a payload of 1200kg

a light camper is about 1500#'s + gear, so at 995kg you would be maxed out.

but 1200kg's would give you plenty of pay load, if you could secure your camper without a flat deck.

Thanks richard, lots of work into that truck, got it dyno'd today - check out the results on the 1HZ turbo thread. I' also have a video fo the dyno that I will upload later.

Hi Louis, did you mean that the rear axle r&p of hzj79 is the same as 100 series? or any modification is needed to make them fit? :cheers:
 
no mods needed that i can remember, the diff just bolted up - the r and p might be different but cant honestly remember. i installed the 100 series diff in it.
