Just replaced my leaky AC compressor on my FJ40 and with good results.
Jump on the freeway and held it at 70mph and after 25 miles here are my results:

Outside temp 105*
Humidity 14%

Starting vehicle temps
Inside 103*
AC vent 52.6*

Lowest vehicle temps
Inside 73*
AC vent 30.4*

How cool it that

A/C in a FJ40 is weak Sauce, man up Phil and throw the heater on high!!!!

J/K nice should be shooting small chunks of Ice out at those temps..

R134 or R12?

j/k good work!

As I suspected you bastage!
30 deg F vent temps are pretty hard to come by with aftermarket r134.

Was the fan on high or low blow at 30 deg?

Where did you get the r12? Big $$$$ per pound?

Phil's got a whole mess of r12 in his garage. Hoarder!

YA R12 is the s***:D A couple of years ago all I could get was 36* :flipoff2: so I ungraded to the largest hi-performance cross flow condensor I could find. Rerouted and shorten the AC lines and now with a brand new ACDelco compressor its about as good as it gets.

Fan speed was medium when I took the picture

Baggins is correct I have now about 34# of R12;p but I have 4 vehicles that use it so I need it. Check around its getting cheaper.
