My first oil change

Changed the oil for the first time today... used Mobile 1 full synthetic.

The skid plate was kinda a POA to take off just to change the oil; I think I'll leave it off for the time being - I am getting the undercarriage sanded/rust protection applied next week and I might as well have them do whats underneat that too!!!

I am really a NooB, but it feels good to do something myself!

Put the skid plate bolts back in or the holes will get filled with rustproofing material.

Why did you have to take off the skid plate, just need to take off the access cover for the oil filter to gain access to the oil filter.

Along that line, does anyone know where I can get both the filter and drain plug access panels besides the stealership?

I hope you didn't pay to much, the real oil is Mobil 1. I wish I could find a container of the Mobile 1 imitation stuff, but I still have never actually seen one.

You could go ahead and grease the drive shaft while the skid pan is off. Maybe change the transmission and transfer case fluid too. jp
