I took my fj40 with a 350 sbc and block hugger headers out wheeling yesterday. I had alot of carb troubles (edelbrock = crap
) and stalled alot whenever I got on any offcamber situation. This resulted in lots of flooding, lots of gas smells, and lots of backfiring. I don't know if my poor running engine has anything to do with it, but my brakes were locking up on me. My brake peddel got extremely firm and I could smell brakes. Not to mention that when in neutral, on flat ground, I was unable to roll my cruiser by pushing it. The only thing I can think is that my master cylinder got too hot and my brake fluid expanded from the heat. When I touched my master cylinder it did not feel nearly hot enough for this to happen. Has anyone else had this? Could this be something occouring between the malfunctioning carb and the brake power booster via the vacume line? Thanks for any info
