I was hoping to be done with or at least in the middle of building the drawer by now but other non 80 series projects have come up. Hoping to start on the drawer next week. The more I look at my truck the more I feel it needs to be on 35's so that has been added to the list but I won't do that till my 33's are worn out.

Got a couple projects taken care of today. Replaced the iffy looking heater valve and the two hoses that connect to it and also upgraded to brighter LED's for the license plate lights. I also finally got around to taking a picture of my Trail Gear bumper I got a few weeks ago.

Old heater valve, the hose that connected to the right hand side was loose. How this hasn't been leaking or explode on my trip to SoCal and back I have no idea but I'm thankful it didn't.

New heater valve with fresh Napa Gold Stripe hoses. The other hoses seemed ok so I'm leaving them alone till I do my PHH when I have more time.

This is all the coolant that leaked out, if I had to guess it was only about 4oz that came out.

New Trail gear bumper. This made for an amazing working platform to stand on while I replaced the heater valve.

I'm hoping tomorrows lunch or after work project will be installing my new snorkel.

Nice work so far. Install a snorkel during lunch break? That's damn ambitious!!!

I did all the things I listed today other than the bumper in about 40 min. Looking at the snorkel install threads it doesn't look too bad. Remove the air box, pull out the turn signal, remove plastic air inlet in fender, tape pattern on fender, potentially screw up fender and A pillar, then hopefully install snorkel.

Got my snorkel installed yesterday. Took longer than I hoped, about an hour 45, but almost a half hour of that time was fighting with my rivet gun that decided it didn't want to work correctly halfway into the first rivet. For me the hardest part was the rear upper nut closest to the cowel. I don't know if it was just the size of my arm or what but I just couldn't get the nut started so I left it off. Drilling the holes was pretty straightforward, I used a step bit so I wouldn't have to constantly change bits to get the holes the right size so the snorkel would fit. I painted all the bare metal around the holes then covered them with RTV before final fitment of the snorkel to hopefully eliminate rust from starting.

Pattern in place.

Dude, great job that looks pretty sexy. Especially good job on the platform fitting.

Thanks. I'm hoping my friend can help me with building the drawer next week to finish off my platform.

As a sleeping platform, how tall are you?!
I'm about 5'10"-5'11". With the back seats folded down and the front seats moved forward there is just over 7' of space from the hatch to the back of the front seats. With my platform and the way I'll use it, it is about as long as a king bed and almost as wide as a queen.

Installed a LED light bar this morning. It required a little bit of modifying to the mounting hardware but other than that it was a pretty straight forward install and only took about an hour. Seems fairly bright in the shop but I won't know for sure till tonight. The bar was only $27 on amazon and the brackets were another $15 and $5 worth of extra hardware to get it mounted the way I wanted.

I might order some yellow Lamin-X for it to reduce glare in bad weather and snow. I had good luck with this with a pair of standard halogen off road lights on my last 80.

I'm 6'4 and have no trouble sleeping on mine

Installed my swaybar drop brackets yesterday. I got them from @Hitit66 pretty easy install, don't really notice a difference driving around but that's not why I installed them. I installed them to be able to use my front swaybar quick disconnects and to keep the drive shaft from rubbing the swaybar when disconnected. My local home depot didn't have the length bolt I wanted to use, I wanted 55mm but they only had 50mm then jumped to 65mm. I didn't want to come up short so I went with the 65mm ones.

Got my drawer finished at lunch today. Last night my friend came over to help with building the box part of it, then today I finished it up and mounted the sliders. Inside dimensions are about 39.25" square with 7" tall sides. At this size the sliders are rated to handle about 350 pounds. The drawer doesn't pull all the way out but there is only about 10" that isn't exposed when the drawer is open. To get a little bit of a sense of scale that is a full size Makita tool bag and a 1 gallon bottle of water that is in there.
