First, I just want to say that I really have enjoyed this site, and all the info. that I can get from it. I like looking at the pictures as well. I get ideas of what I want to do to my FJ40.
Well this is what I've got to work with. I will be posting pictures as I go along fixing this thing up. Be patient, I don't have a lot of time with kids doing after school activities. I'm not going to do a full frame off restoration because, the frame and under side of the tub is in very good condition. I've already started cleaning and painting the frame, as you can see in the pics. I'll just clean it and freshen it up a bit. I've got a few rust issues, not to bad that I will be working on.

Mike
I think I posted this pics right. Will see

Welcome:flipoff2: It'll it look alot better once you get the lift on:D Noticed the eastcoast paint job hopefully its just on the surface but looks like a soild base to start with

Yeah, I've got two other FJ's to use as donor vehicles. I also have my eye's on a 76 that I'm going to buy. I will at least use the doors off of it. I just found it yesterday, the guy only wants $250.00 for it, just to get rid of it. Here is a pic of it.

Made my own anti-inversion shackles. They are 1 1/2" longer then stock. I'm going to match them up with the 2 1/2" rancho springs I'm getting from cruiserjunkie, Thanks. I still have to paint them. I think they will look good black with those gold colored L9 bolts.

You've done a nice job on the chassis Mike. :)

Gosh those factory-welds on the chassis are horrible though(where the pipe-crossmember meets the chassis-rails).

Mine are no better. (I was thinking of rewelding mine properly.)

You'll be an expert on bodywork once you've got that body rust out.

Welcome to MUD.

That's fir sure. It'll be a big learning experiance, I like good challenge. I bought a cheap sand blaster and started on the frame, it works pretty good. I've got some more work to do on the frame. I just wanted to start posting some pictures of my FJ. :)

Well I put the lift on this past Saturday, I couldn't resist. I had the springs, got all the bushings, and the shackles so I had to put it on. I'm going to take the wheels off next and sand blast em and paint em black. I also have to put the shocks on.
The bumpers look bad because they are coming off. I'm making new front and rear bumpers.
I also have the new hood that I'm going to put on from one of the donors. That's already sand blasted and ready for primer. I'll be posting more pics later.

Well now that the weather is breaking, I'm getting a chance to get into it. First a few pics of the lift with the new used wheels and tires.

Now getting into it. I pulled all the interior out to see what I am working with. Got two rust spots, one on each side in the floor boards. Not to bad though, mostly surface rust.
