I have always used flowmaster on my jeep, van etc. I need a new muffler for my 06 lc100 but flowmasters website completely skips over the model. Under the oem muf it’s marked Toyota 05003 futura. Should I just go oem?

Do you want it to sound like anything? Or maintain sewing machine?

IMO, if OEM is any more expensive than any after market, I'd just go aftermarket.

In fact that's what I did. From the new after market high flow cats into an after market muffler.

Mufflers are super easy for a good exhaust shop. It doesn't really have to be model specific, just be sure the inlets/outlets are the right size and that it'll flow enough for our engine.

OEM is part #17403-50151. I have it in my trunk right now - I purchased it during the 25% off sale a week or so ago. It's not cheap. If going this route, you'll also want to order new hardware (nuts, bolts, rear clamp and bolt) and gaskets.

Alternatively you can just show up at pretty much any exhaust shop and they'll cut & weld an aftermarket one in for a few hundred bucks.

WALKER 55329 Quiet-Flow Stainless Steel - Rock Auto - $113. Have one - had to do a little work to get the tailpipe to connect nicely, but it's quiet, stainless, and inexpensive. Cannot tell a sound difference from OEM.

Toyota will last a long while. The rockauto walker system will last only a few years if you're in the salt belt. (Currently running one of my 2007. Went through the walker 'stainless' every 3 years or so on my 4runner). Both serve the purpose. Issue is longevity.

If I was keeping the truck long term I'd get a toyota one or quality 304 exhaust and be done with it for a long time.
