My original (I'm the 3rd owner) muffler is starting to give out on my 2000 LX470./ It's gotten a bit "throaty" not bad now but it'll get worse. 250,000 miles on it so wth. I'm thinking stock, what do you guess Lexus or Toyota will charge or should I go with Borla?

Mine came with a Magnaflow muffler which sounds really nice. A little bit throatier but nowhere near obnoxious, and im very picky about obnoxious sounding exhausts. A nice roar on startup but just a low rumble at idle. You dont really start hearing it until 3000 RPM. Everything else about the exhaust is stock.

Thanks for your posting, is this a full fit without any modifications, getting long in the tooth and looking for easiest way out.

I had a similar issue and I removed the factory one with a flowmaster from Advance Auto on clearance. The muffler itself was about $15 and the weld jo with vibrant clamps and a nice turn down piece at the end came to $200. I love the way it sounds now, no drone, but just enough to hear the silky V8 when you get down on the throttle.

Unfortunately it was already installed when I bought it

Went OEM very happy with it. It no longer sounds like a 64 GTO lol
