After 28 years and a little too much fun on trails the weld joint on the front of the resonator has given way. Lots of high speed washboard in Saline Valley this past weekend probably did it in!

Don't know if its shot or can be welded up. May need replacing from tbe pipe through to the tail pipe. Pic where its come apart.

Performance Muffler in Escondido is good.

Would help to say I'm in south OC, Laguna area and have a 1994 80. Escondido is a little out of the way but doable.

Agreed, that's far. Must some good shops closer to home.

Try Big B Mufflers & Catalytic Converters in Lake Forest. Nice guy owns the place and did a great job welding up a cracked exhaust on my 40. I plan to go back soon for a full exhaust re-route. He also did the entire exhaust for a 40 Robert restored for the Toyota dealer in RSM. Robert was really happy with the work. He is really busy and sometimes works on his own schedule so call ahead if you go.

Thx. Ran across him on Yelp with very good feedback.

Big B did some work on my M5 a few years ago. They did a muffler delete and welded on straight pipes.

I would go back again.

Saw him this morning and taking truck in Thursday. Good news is that he can weld repair!!

I have had Brandon at Big B do some work on my wife's car, and we also use him for repairs at our shop. I have dealt with a several muffler shops in OC, and Big B has been the best.

Nice to see another recommendation! Truck is there today for repair of the resonator pipe.

Brandon did nice work in a tight spot. Even added a little support rod.

Now for the dumb question. Should I hit those welds with at least some automotive primer? I've also got some galvanizing spray paint.

Mike Leach in Orange, His shop is called the Muffler Shop. 814 W. Katella in Orange. Do some research on what he has done in the past, amazing, and affordable.

This guy is one of the last pros in business.
