Hi guys, I’m new here, and to off-roading.
I got gx 470 lifted 2.5 on 32s.
Planning to hit few trails in Moab.
My coworker looked at rear of vehicle and said
You will hit - bend muffler first before scrapping with hitch. Is there solutions, for example of remove tip before trail, and cut muffler pipe a bit shorter like couple inches so tip can go back on later. That should give you enough departure angle that you will not damage anything.

Please advise,

Thanks.

I've off-roaded my GX quite a bit (including at Moab). The hitch hits before the tailpipe 99% of the time, probably due to my driving style of straddling obstacles/rocks. The hitch actually works pretty decent as a rear "skidplate". I've nicked my tailpipe just once. I'd probably leave it alone unless you'll be doing some nasty trails.

Just add a hitch skid and you’ll be good. Saves your bumper as well.

Thanks. Didn’t even know such things existed.
