All,
I am very likely closing on a deal on an 80 series thus Saturday from Raleigh, NC. Anyone have recommendations for a good and reasonable shipping company from there to KC? Thanks!

Thanks, I appreciate that. I don't think all will be finalized by then, though.

I use this Chris Korte of DV Transportation for all my shipping (8-12 per year). He has his own rigs but also will put out on the shipping network for a flat $100 fee and you pay actual cost of shipping in cash to driver that drops it off. Most Brokers charge $200-$250 and pay them the whole enchilada so you never truly know. Just had a Q7 brought in from Los Angeles for $600 to the truck and $100 to Chris. Had a Rover brought in from Dallas for $350 to the truck and $100 to Chris. Tell him Dave DeWalt sent you so he knows your a "cash" guy.

Have used uShip on occasion with mixed results. Better for Bikes than Cars in my experience but certainly an option to explore. The secret to them is if you receive a reasonable bid, google the shipper's name and track down direct contact info on DOT registries and call. Work out the deal for cash and skip uShip as the scalp the shippers and you can often save a good chunk direct with cash at delivery.
