I just ordered a set from 4wheelparts.com

The salesman calls me back last night and tells me they called Goodyear asking when the order will be backorder will be delivered. (excellent customer service BTW) The president of the company gets an email from Goodyear the next day - Those tires are not in stock and not planned for production in the immediate future.

DAMN!

Anyone have a tire they really like and would recommend?

I see 60/40 street to offroad and a part time DD.

Thanks.

Andy

I was just in the same boat until I found a basically new set, 5 which I'm glad gonna pick them up this weekend.

You can get the interco Trxus in 37's. I had 35's on my 80 series and really liked them. Road good on road, worked good offroad. I would run those again.

Take a look at the Pitbull Rockers.

They are a bias, but much more street friendly when compared to other bias tires. The offroad prowess is second to none.

I like 'em on my trail rig/ recovery rig/ parts hauler which sees some street use.

the toyo's look very cool............

thought about pro-comps (extreme terrain)?
they are about the same price as the MTR's

My first plan was to buy either the MTR or Iroks - whichever I could get locally fastest. I am REALLY nervous about the Iroks because I know they will wear out super fast. I suppose you gotta pay to play.

I really did consider the Pitbulls. They are not off the list yet. Hearing that they aren't as bad on-road is encouraging.

No real reason why, but I am not a fan of Toyo's. They just don't appeal to me. I guess I think they look... average. Partly is my perception that they saw a tire market and hopped on the bandwagon so I don't really see them as innovators or intriguing. Whatever. Just not gonna do it. Same with Coopers.

I have to decide by Monday. I might just bite the bullet and go with the Iroks. And buy a second set of ATs for street. :flipoff2:

Do not get the Pro comp xtream A/T (oxymoron) they suck fierce, don't hook up for s*** and the weakest sidewalls on the planet. I would love to have some 39" blue labels from how I have seen them work but they are like 400 a tire, ballz
