I know its a CHAT thread but, i figure everyones viewing here so....

I'm getting 280-300 to the tank driving 60 miles a day= 12 MPG and prices of 89 are $3.19 per gal here in NY, that is why i'm thinkning of selling the rig!

What are others getting right now and how much are you paying for the gas??

I'm paying what everyone else is paying for gas, and I'm getting the same mileage I've gotten the last half dozen times the topic has come up. :D :flipoff2:

I'm getting the same MPG I was getting the last time someone posted a thread identical to this one.

Thats not very nice guys, you could have at least told him to search.........

But yes, poor has been the Norm since they came from the factory. Unless of course you are CruiserDan and can get 18mpg............

I'll play... My first check since buying - 12.9 MPG, all city. THIRSTY

12 City

17-18 Highway (avg 65)

so how many of you are running under 2k rpms and slightly above? Are you getting better gas milage? I am going to start to run in the Slllooowww lane with the old ladies, hopefully that will help them MPG's.

Last time I dropped by my local Shell station they were offering KY jelly when SUV owners pulled up to the pump. I think they figured it would make things easier.

Oh yes, to answer your question, 20 gallon average fill up gets me 250-260 miles or 12.5-13 mpg. Currently paying $3.12

I cannot honestly answer due to the great amount of depression it would cause!

Driving slower gets better gas mileage? Why is that? Because the engine is working less or because of less drag?

I dunno dude...this slow driving thing seems pretty radical to me. Seriously, it would take SO much longer to get anywhere.

Sheesh...the next thing you know, people will be driving UNDER the speed limit...

Soon I will be getting INCREDIBLE mileage, once I start RIDING MY BIKE TO WORK!
about 12 miles per gallon
@2.95 per gallon in NJ
approx 200 miles till the light comes on. totally city driving approx 10 miles per day
OME heavies with 285's

Are you sure you are doing 280-300 a tank? or 280-300 miles for between 19.32 to 21.15 gallons? The tank is 25 gallon total right? I get upto 294 miles for 20.15 gallons, so that is 14.59 MPG. I know not a big deal but that's I get:D

I'm getting 26.

Oh, wait a minute. I'm driving my wife's Sienna now cause I hate spending $60 at one shot to fill the Cruiser.

Yes, gas prices are affecting my behavior!

Why would you drive an 80 60 miles every day?
Thats silly.
Do like I did and buy an old beater car.
I got an old 87 cressida with 184k for $1000.
It now has 204k on her. 25 mpg
Save the beast for the trails.

if you will search you will find that people are getting quite noticeable savings by slowing down, about the only thing besides not modifining your truck and keeping it in good mechanical shape that will garontee better fuel milage.

but keeping your 80 stock and going slow is no fun at all.

Thats silly.

Because it is reliable, safe, and comfortable and it gets better mileage than the two trucks I used to own. I used to put 70-100 miles a day on my 80.

if you added up all the costs of havign a second vehicle, especially a cheap beater I think you might be suprised at how little you are saving.

I've biked to work off-n-on for 25 years. This last year I rode nearly every day, six days a week, ten miles each way. I invested in studded tires, fantastic on ice. The 80 hardly left the garage, it consumed less gas/oil/rubber/oxygen than any hybrid on the road. Greenies can kiss my ass, I'm keeping the 80!
