Google turned up about four results fro the Kennedy Center, so I don't know which one you're referring to. The K street location is near one of the results, looks to be across the street from Farragut square. Call first and check the hours, not all the stores do the late night happy hour specials. Great deal though if they do.

Avoid DC.

I have lived in DC for the last 3 years. There are good and bad points to life in the Nation's capital. First the good: nightlife is great, plenty of gleefully packed bars and trendy restaurants for a young couple to check out, sight seeing goes without being said, and DC is recessionproof for employment. Now the bad. I live in SW, close to the new ball stadium, my life and what I do during the week is dictated by traffic, general population is unbelievably rude. I am up for relocating out west, and if I were you i would exhaust all options, make the best informed decision that you can make and move to Texas :D.
