Just got my hi lift in the 60” version as I don’t have a winch and wanted some form of self recovery device.

Did not see any easy way to store the jack and avoid the common complaints of rusting and grit in the mechanism, so went with a different tactic.

Took the foot and head off the jack and put the mechanism in a storage bin in my solo drawer. Placed the rail in the Yakima shovel mount attached to my extended Load Warrior rack. Also found that the tiny gap between the edge of the drawer and the sidewalk of the bins was perfect space for the jack handle. The red plastic jack base fit under the wing as well.

Sure it will take some time to assemble, but have often found that having a few minutes to think about a problem gives more more time to come up with a good solution.

I think it's a good idea to separate for the same reasons you mentioned. I'm not exactly sure how those mounts work but for an extra layer of safety, I'd suggest maybe a cable lock that goes through one of the jack holes.... (haha, I said, Jack Hole)

The 60" bar will also fit crossways under the second row seats. Safe and secure. Used to carry mine there before I got a bumper.

I also keep my tire irons under the second row seats. They stay put there just fine. The weight of the seats mashes them down against the carpeting enough to keep them from sliding around. The jack bar, however, can slide back and forth a little so keep an eye on your inner door panels for marks. Maybe some cardboard wrapped over each end would prevent that....

I have a bumper and still carry mine in this spot. Towels wrapped on the ends.

It will fit under the second row?
It will fit between the first and second row on the floor- not sure how you might fit it under the second row and still get the seat to lock into place.

Got tired of seeing the bar for the hi lift on the sid of my load warrior rack and wanted to move it to allow room for my new shovel and incoming Waterport tank. Went back to the box of unused Yakima mounts and used a clamp on the original stock bars and a bracket to hold the bar horizontally below the basket. Then used the Yakima shovel mounts for the DMOS shovel. Just enough room to mount the waterport tank on the front driver side of the basket when it arrives.
