To be able to lower the tailgate and clear the tray, I got a hitch extender/lower kit. I have a license plate relocator from 1Up coming as well (I've been pulled over in GA and CA for license plate obstruction and don't want that hassle).

Welded receivers to the swingouts on both my LC and 4runner to mount my 1up rack. Now I can swing the rack out of the way to get full access to the cargo areas and not mess with tilting the rack down(which still got in the way of the swingouts!) ... so much better now!
PSA- if you have a 1up with the EZ-Up 2 pull handle, make sure you loctite (blue 242) all the grub screws to the handle. The vibration will eventually shake them off if you don't. I found out the hard way. Luckily, I had some 10-32 screws laying around until the grub screws came in. Apart from that, the design is solid and makes it easier to pull the rack up and down if you have multiple trays.
