Does anyone have a mount they like for either a smartphone or iPad for the cockpit of their rig?

Im looking for something a bit more elegant than tossing my phone into a cup holder and letting it bang around.

Also, what is everyone doing for power to the second row of their rigs?

I use a RAM cradle and swing-arm mount. I also replaced my cig lighter plug with the USB plug above for power.

Also, may want to browse through this section of EXPO. Lots of ideas there.

lost of threads on this if ya poke around a bit.....

I have it mated to this mount and universal holder on my truck, Panavise makes a custom in-dash mount (passenger side) Part# 751371203
PanaVise Products, Inc.

ProclipUSA makes several in-dash mounts (driver side, passenger side, and center snifter column) Toyota Land Cruiser 2005 Dashboard Mounts - ProClip USA

What's cool about them, is they sell an exact fit cell phone holder with built-in charger.
Apple iPhone 6s Plus Without Cases Padded Charging Holder with Tilt Swivel and USB Cigarette Lighter Plug - ProClip USA

All these mounts are universal in that they have a standardized hole pattern. So you aren't tied to any one manufacturer for your device holder. The pattern is called "AMPS": What is the AMPS Hole Pattern? / TwistedThrottle.com | TwistedThrottle.com

A bit pricey but the fit and finish is really nice. I'm going to add the driver side mount eventually for my ham handheld.

I use a Ram X grip suction cup to the windshield for my 6+. I haven't found anything better yet, but wouldn't mind trying the Ram seat bolt mount someday.

iGrip / Herbert Richter is another brand that just makes universal device holders. iGRIP - Holding Solutions for Cell Phones, Navigation Devices & MP3 Players
All there stuff is made in Germany and is great quality. This is what I installed for my folks. Held up well. These were also mounted to the Panavise mounts in a MDX and GX460.

Arkon is a budget brand (made overseas) but is still pretty good quality. Arkon.com

(I believe Panavise and ProClip are both made in the USA).

Ram Mount is pretty popular if you search prior threads. RAM Mounts - Mobile Mounting Solutions

I usually search on Amazon and buy whatever is the least expensive with Prime free shipping.

I was looking for a plate like this but your link is no longer working. I found the Ram arm but where did you buy the plate?

I think it was this one.

RAM has a huge variety of mounting options. I just looked through the pieces on their website and put together a system that worked for my truck. I no longer have that truck so I will need to do it again for the new one...
