Makes me love it more!

Those guys might have the coolest job on Earth. I read that earlier today too, and was kind of surprised they A) chose the LC to do the comparison with and B) gave it the nod next to a Jeep Rubicon Unlimited Hard Rock edition (they really need a shorter name for it).

Makes me pretty excited to get my LC to Moab this summer for the first time!

I hope they filmed a video that goes along with the article. It sure didn't seem like a lot of words considering the scope of their adventure.

Great article.
Wonder what Toyota is considering as the next power plant for the 300. The article mentioned that the g550 had its intercoolers low in its front bumper and they were worried about it off road. I haven't heard of anything in development. LS hybrid motor maybe. God, please bring the diesel.

I never realized this... "It’s worth mentioning that Australian-spec Land Cruisers come standard with an 11.9-gallon auxiliary tank". Anyone have any details of where it's located and how integrated it is?

It's been discussed before. I think it squeezed in under the spare tire. I'm still waiting for someone to start importing the OEM parts to make it an "off road" only mod since its not DOT certified.

Yes, located above spare wheel. You also need a slightly different suction pump and sender unit as shown below as it sucks the fuel from the auxiliary tank via a venturi effect. Other than that the good news is that your main tank is configured and ready to connect with auxiliary tank.

THOSE MAG guys do have a fun job

they all stop at my Westlake office parking lot
I always look out the window at the newest bright colored mustang or the newest lambo and day dream..

Only problem is the US 200's have components installed were the aux tank goes for emissions like the Carbon canister that would need to be removed. Like DT255 you can buy a complete setup from Long Ranger in Australia, but it will take a lot of work to modify the US 200 series to fit. he discusses it in his build thread. You can find that in the last section of the 200 series FAQ

Installing an aux tank to extend range is my eventual long term goal (with the Long Ranger as my fall back) but my dream is to go OEM...
