Installing the replacement 2F into my 1982 FJ45. New engine is from a 1983 FJ60.

I cannot get the motor mount brackets to line up.

I am reasonably sure that I am using the brackets from the old 2F but obviously I am doing something wrong.

On the driver's side, this is the bracket I am using. Has to be correct because the 60 had a ginormous bracket and I could not mix those two up.

On the passenger side, I have two similar brackets but one is 2 inches longer. I cannot get either to fit, one is too wide and one is too narrow to fit on the isolators.

I bought new isolators I believe from Cruiser Brothers, do I have these mounted correctly? Does it matter which side is up?

Anyone know whether I should be using the shorter or longer passenger side bracket?

Ive installed engines before, but dont have a clue what I am doing wrong here. Any help appreciated.

Thank you.

And loosen the rubber mount on the frame at the same time, and sort of angle the studs top and bottom to slide into place. Took me an hour or so of trying different things before I realized to keep the mounts and isolator loose to get it to all sit right.

I wish I had posted 3 hours earlier yesterday! This morning I loosened everything up as you guys suggested and had the engine mounts bolted down in 10 minutes.

I was using the correct mounts, the longer passenger mount in the photo above was correct, but it's amazing how far off those mounts appear to be when you try to drop them in tightened.

The video was really helpful too, thanks for posting it. Thanks for all the help.
