Hi everyone,

I’ve got a Toyota BJ42 with the 3B diesel and I’m having some trouble with the EDIC motor. I recently took it apart, cleaned it thoroughly and re-greased it. After reassembly it worked fine at first, but after 2-3 weeks it started moving very slowly again.

I’m wondering what could be causing this. Maybe the grease I used is too thick? Or could it be worn brushes, weak spring, or an electrical issue like poor ground or tired windings?

Has anyone experienced the same problem and found a reliable fix?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'd say any of the above could be it. Perhaps a shaft/bushing is worn some and it start to bind after the grease get pushed aside.

Check your electrical connection for corrosions. Look carefully at the connector crimp on the wire - corrosion can crawl under the insulation causing poor conduction of power.
