Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

FWIW, I posted my '08 LC for sale at $25K and would appreciate the group's feedback on the price given its age, condition, and mods. I replaced this one with a 2019 model.

Priced right IMO

I know its a 14 but that's a great price imo. You'll have to budget the radiator replacement and maybe an AHC service but otherwise damn.

Single owner Florida truck is hard to beat. Undercarriage should be quite clean.

Definitely a good deal for someone in this group. Hell, I even inquired on trading my recently purchased 2013 LC, and they offered around 40k. I like the LC platform though over the LX.

Personally, if you havent gotten any bites, you either

1. lower the price

2. prepare to wait even longer for it to sell

Honestly, you missed the boat by a few years. A few years ago, this would be gone yesterday.

Nowadays i think the appeal of these things are becoming more niche. A lot of folks (me included) are hunting the 2016+ LC200.

Anything else just aint gonna cut it.

There was a super clean LX here with 88K miles or so and it sat for months at like 35 ish K or so. Dude just stuck it back in storage.

It's an 08 approaching 200k miles listed for $25k.

You can find a later model 100 series with around 200k miles for like $7k - $10k+ cheaper, depending on condition.

IMO with an asking price like this on an older high mileage 200 the value just isn't there when compared to what you can find later model 100s for. They are both old at this point - within a few years of each other. And the 100 is more reliable and cheaper to repair and maintain than the 200.

Waiting to see my old unit pop up here...

Now that it's fully played out. RMR bought from me for 65...someone on here reached out to me who was considering it and informed that they were asking 75.

About what I was expecting. The top tier premium on an HE seems to pretty quickly dissipate over 50k miles at the moment. Happy to have left what I did on the table knowing that I didn't have to get beat up for a month to ultimately take 70. Looking forward to being back one day...

Seems like 20k-30k miles on an HE is about 90ish right now no matter how you slice it.

They seem to have at least 5HEs ranging in miles and with that dreaded "call for price" note. Including that one with double digit miles that they bought at BAT several months ago (maybe one year) for a gazzillion of dollars. I can only imagine how much they are asking for, for it to be sitting there all this time. Didn't see yours there, since none of them have 50k miles or more. They also have a 700OT - marked-up of course  .

I think mine fell into a sweet spot of price, miles, maintenance and condition and someone jumped. It was not on the site for much more than a week. I'm not sure what their typical margin is on these, and I'd imagine call for price allows them to stay nimble with the fluctuating market. Todays price isn't yesterday's price type stuff...believe it or not you can privately market a house before entering the MLS and post it with call agent for price as well...insane.

I was surprised it went as quickly as it did in general.

The call for price bit irks me the most. Just man up and post whatever ridiculous amount you are asking rather than make me waste my time calling in. It also serves as a way for them to get you on the phone and hit you with their sales pitch about how it’s the cleanest 200 you have ever seen, good as new. Ok how much? Oh $120k?!? Yea, no thanks. At that point I’ll go buy a brand new 700OT+ and save a couple grand.

Also a great way to build a customer database, whether you want to be in it or not.

$75,000 is a pretty solid retail price for your truck. Thing was in great condition and was an HE. They probably could have pushed it to $80,000+ had they been more patient.

But as others have said they have a significant number of trucks gathering dust right now because of insane pricing so maybe they're sweating a bit.

I agree. I found the price to be super fair and made me feel even better honestly. Granted it ended up probably being easy for them, but after transport, a few hours back and forth with some payoff issues to get the title. I doubt they had any other expense in it, but a decent amount of work to net 6-8k imo.

Point being I wouldn’t have been surprised to see them ask for more. It’s a meaningless compassion but that’s roughly what I paid OTD over a year ago. Maybe they did need some quick cash infusion to offset the ones they have to hold to where they want to be.

I certainly hope so.

Exactly. The launch of the OT must have been a gut punch to their business model of cornering the HE market and jacking up the price to six figures in low mileage ones. You would now have to be a die-hard V8 fan to choose an HE instead of a brand new, under warranty, OT. This even with the OT's camel hump on the 3row. I can only imagine when the 2rows start to show up with a boot comparable to the HEs.

Are 700OTs readily available without markup?

Where are 06-07 100s with around 200k miles listed for 10k cheaper? They seem to go for 18-22k, and there are a few listed in the classified for 25k with mods and still 150k+ miles. Granted, if it isn't selling, then it's overpriced, but I don't think it's far off. I had a higher mileage 07 that was NOT cheaper than a 200 to maintain. The timing belt, water pump, and insanely expensive brake booster come to mind. Not to mention the 3URFE gets slightly better mileage with more horsepower.

I'd argue the only cheap 100 series are pre-5 speed, which need a significant amount of money and time invested into a baseline, or they are rust buckets. Pricing is also heavily dependent on your local area... Anyways, just spitballing...

03+ got the 5 speed. $15k for one with 200k miles would be top dollar in my area. (Southeast. no rust.). 06 & 07 have a little more of a premium. Then again, I don't look at and wouldn't consider buying one from any auction site, any dealer, and/or any truck modded with off-road crap. Craigslist private seller only, Nextdoor, word of mouth, etc. Buy from a regular person and just be patient. They aren't that rare.

If you don't tow the 2UZ is fine.
