this is a private sell......48k is OTD.....typically I use ( i have access to mahiem too) i take the MMR and retail number split in half for private sales.....that number is 47,400....i am not going to lose a car over 600.00 ( i am not rich, but..) maybe my thinking is off and that is why i am coming to you guys for validation......please keep it coming...i dont want to over buy...
Prices have been too high for so long - it's a challenge to say what's good deal or not because all the prices are still so high. And as stated
@das100 , prices are perhaps going down still. You're suggesting paying nearly 60% of the vehicle's MSRP for a vehicle that has basically consumed it's original "life". It's bonkers to me.
About this time last year I was using the line in the sand of good deal for a 2016+ at the 10-12k miles per year and rust-free at $50k. That line has dropped considerably over the last year.
I think the price of your prospective vehicle is high, but what's not mentioned in the condition of the undercarriage, cam tower, starter, radiator, etc., as we as other maintenance history and tires. For $48k private party on a 2016 I'd expect ATs all around, clean interior, all service documented (including trans, diffs, transfer case), brakes, etc.
