Guys -

I'm leaving on my first overland trip on Sunday and would like to make sure I have the right tools in case of an emergency. I'm fairly new at this so I'm looking for things like the most common socket sizes for my 97FZJ80. Any other suggestions are absolutely welcome like extra parts, pieces, bulbs, etc.
Thank you!

Search my friend. There are several good thread on the matter.

I did search but mostly found other years/models. I'm assuming that all 80s are about the same but wanted to get second opinions.

10mm,12mm,14mm,17mm are the most common sizes on this truck. You can get just about anything done as long as you have those in wrenches (preferably flex head gear wrench) and sockets both deep and shallow. Also, make sure to take plenty of wobbly socket extensions for those hard to reach areas. Something to be able to squeeze the coolant clamps so you could get them on and off. You can make a pair of channel locks work, I much prefer a set of hose clamp pliers with the long cable on them for better access.
