Hey guys

After ordering some exterior stuff, now it‘s about the interior.

I ordered the Slee battery bracket and I plan to use it for a second battery.

Now the question is:
Does a Morrflate compressor fit there? It has a nice setup where you can preset the pressure and quality/ speed doesn‘t seem to be bad…
If it doesn‘t fit there, where did you mount it?

Or should I just stick to the ARB twin and (if available) add a preset thingy?!

I would not be surprised if the Morrflate compressor had a shortened life while living under the hood.... especially with the sensitive pressure electronics. The twin ARB does okay under the hood but it's rated 100% duty cycle is at 72 degrees F. What's underwood temperature?

Mounting the compressor inside the cabin will likely double longevity but you have to deal with it taking space and noise inside the cabin.

Storing it in a case and hooking it up just to air tires is less convenient but you can use the same compressor between multiple vehicles.

Hoser said it well but I will add this. I have had the ARB twins under a hood for +/- 10 years. My setup has been this. I use a switch located under the hood. When I need air I open the hood, connect hose, and switch on the unit. I have had no issues with this set up. Granted my use is only for airing up my tires and other inflatables (insert joke ;).

I'd be very surprised if the Morrflate compressor fits into the Slee tray; I have a very compact Viair compressor and it wouldn't fit into the Slee tray (which would have been a very clean solution) by about 1" in width. I considered all kinds of locations for this thing but the 100 interior was NOT designed for storage and I ended up mounting it on the rear molle panel. The noise isn't an issue since I'm outside the cabin when airing up. I've been thrilled with it, it airs up fast!

Hhmmm, ok. happy to hear more, but might need to reconsider.

Generally the compressor is only for airing up with hood open. So that should work. I generally don't really like the idea of having it in another box that I can potentially forget. My van has the ARB twin installed under the frame, works totally fine with water crossings, dust and similar. No issue at all. So perhaps that's also an option. Just mount in in the old spare tire location or on the side of the Dissent swing arm while making sure I can easily connect my hose (perhaps an extension hose I can easily reach...).

Not having the compressor on the Slee bracket would likely allow to install some electronics for the dual battery/ Aux lighting/ winch stuff in that spot...

Has anyone installed a compressor under the vehicle?

I considered installing the air compressor on a frame rail or tucked into a corner of the rear bumper but I was worried about dust/water/mud damage.

Just a quick update:
decided to mount the ARB twin on the Slee bracket.

Now I got to learn and decide on the dual battery setup. Thanks for the comments!

I happen to have these compressors. I have a bit of a compressor fetish 🤣 The Morrflate/Maxi-Trac compressor is quite large.
