In the spirit of the Egyptian Land Cruiser pictures, here are a some from South Africa. The first is the lion who attacked our left rear tire, the second a lion attacking the back of our land cruiser (105 series) and the third is a lion eating our left rear tire. We got two flats and drove over a mile out of the reserve. We had to borrow a spare from the manager of the reserve who had the same land cruiser.

Nearly eaten

That's incredible!! I wonder why the lions went right for the tires....

The Park manager said he'd never seen such a thing. We were in our embassy land cruiser with diplomatic plates and told him his staff had identified us as Americans and put bbq sauce on the tires on purpose to get the lions to eat us. He laughed and wondered why we didn't just drive away when they went for the tires. We didn't want to run over the lions. He said lions are cheaper than people.

In retrospect, thinking of that lion in our back window, he had a point!

Dang, those are some wild pics! Do you have any pics of the cruiser that you were driving when you were attacked by lions?

DANG!!! That lion loves them tires

I didn't take any pix of the land cruiser. Here is the same model we had. Also a picture of the spare tire where the lion's teeth punctured the sidewall. You can see the lick marks as well. Tasty!;p
