I found two issues with my moon roof today. The first is that my up/down (not open/close) switch is borked. I can raise the back up but then it will not go down.
I though it would be easy enough to manually close it till I can spend some time on it when I found the second problem. I tried to manually close the roof and NOTHING happened. Per the owner's manual there is a screw, spacers and washer protecting the slot to manually operate the window. (I did have to cut the headliner a little to see the manual screw, but not a big deal there.) I tried to take the screw out and I could not get it to budge. Tried a bigger driver and still nothing. Any thoughts as to what is going on with that? Or better, how to fix it in case it happens again?
For getting the moon roof to seat again: with some testing I was able to determine which wire on the back of that pair of switches is for which function and I jumped the "Down" output to ground (at the light) and it went down just fine. The switch itself needs replaced or at least cleaned but I ran out of time to do that. It should be easy enough when I get time and parts. The more concerning problem is the manual override - if that doesn't work and I get caught in the rain I could be in for a serious drenching.
/Yes I searched but was unable to find this issue.
