Moisture in exhaust

I believe the PO did it before me. I had it done on my previous 60... by a mechanic that I should never ever have let near my truck. To this day letting that guy work on Blue was one of the biggest mistakes I have made.

I am just easing into being comfortable working on my truck. Someday, hopefully, with the help of this forum, I'll be able to tackle anything, but not yet.

Fortunately, we have an awesome cruiser guy in Denver name Ron- he runs Rocky Mountain Cruisers. Now he's the guy I should have had working on Blue the whole time... he's the only one working on Clifford besides me.

Why do you ask? Is it a $500 / 15 hour type job?

On mine- I notice that on the wall & floor in my garage where the exhaust hits there is some black splatters. My smoke looks like normal condensation and doesn't smell- but the splatters almost look like oil. What does that mean? I can snap photos tomorrow and upload.

the soot rockdoc talked about can either be rich carb setting, incomplete combustion, or burnig oil residue. all typical on older vehicles with high miles.

as far as the 500/ 15hrs project for the front end. yep, but it will enable you to become intimately familar with your front axle which can be handy for future problem diagnosis and or field repairs.
