Not really tech but not really chit chat either so hopefully this is ok to post here. Has anyone used one of the pre purchase inspection companies out there like lemon squad or whatnot? I’m half a country away from a rig I’m looking at and the seller is open to one of the mobile companies coming to them but they don’t want to take it to a shop. I get it. Taking it to a shop is a giant time suck.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these companies.

Cheers

Personally, I’d post and see if a local mud member could check it out for you. They would know the “what to look for” specific to our unicorns than a generic check list type of mechanic.

The DEALER that did my PPI, listed the brakes as within spec. They were metal to metal. So I take those with a grain of salt

After six months and looking at a dozen trucks I would feel more comfortable doing a PPI than a shop lol. A good flashlight, obd scanner, maybe bring my handy borescope camera and a tarp/creeper. I’ve done it for a few members and would gladly do it again for someone else.

Plus I get life is in the way but spending a few hundred bucks for a flight to put your own eyes on it can pay dividends. A good friend runs a world renowned vintage BMW restoration shop and we always laugh when we some real shoddy builds on BaT and laugh more when people buy them sight unseen.
