Alright everyone it is time to clear your calendar for the resurrection of MLK Winter Bash!!! The club has ponied up the funds to secure us an awesome cabin about 5mins from the trails and it will provide us with true "High on the Hog" living!!
Detials (check here for updates):
When: January 14-17.... we can check in to the lodge Friday afternoon and have to check out Monday morning. Most likely wheeling Saturday and Sunday, but I am sure there will be a few the early on Friday wheeling as well.
Where: The Winter Bash with be held at Wind Rock/ Coal Creek OHV Park (Coal Creek OHV | OHV Trails | Campground | ATV Riding | Adventure | ATV/OHV Sport Events | Off-Road Riding | East Tennessee Mountains | Windrock | OHV | Rock Crawling | Rock Climbing | Mud Bog | Poker Run | Rules | Coal Creek OHV) located in Oliver Springs, TN. We will be staying at the Wind Rock lodge (Windrock ATV Lodge / Oliver Springs-Knoxville -- About Windrock Lodge). The club has reserved the lodge for the club at the price of $1500 dollars for the 3 day weekend. If we have 20 people attend the cost per person will be $75 dollars, not bad for 3 days lodging. If we have to we will prob. make the cut off at 25-30 people for the house to keep it from getting over croweded. Post up as early as you can if you are coming and how many so we can have a solid head count. Also there are enough beds to cover roughly 21 people, some of them being doubles and fold outs, thus it might be neccessary for some to sleep on the floor but we can work out those arrangements when we actually arrive at the lodge.
Wheeling: As stated above we will be doing our offroading at Wind Rock/ Coal Creek OHV area. It offers a full range of offroading challenges but does offer more easy to moderate trails than true hardcore offroading, and that was a major reason for the club choosing to go there. So you can bring you stock and lightly built Cruisers with no worries! Also please note that there is a $33 dollar fee for a two day pass to the OHV park, per person.
Who: Being that this is a signature Upstate Cruisers event we will be limiting this to current UC members, but you can always join or renew your membership before the trip
Food: The food situation at the moment is a fluid issue but lets consider this to be a BYOB and BYOM event for now. I am going to talk to the BOD about cooking dinner for the club one night and in the past we have usually have had a member or two step up and cook a big pot of chilli or such for everyone one night as well. Stay tuned on this one!
Okay that is the basic info. eveyone feel free to post up with questions or suggestions and I will do my best to address them ASAP....
- One final note; in the past this has always been a great event for eveyone to come to and cut loose have a grand time and do some wheeling. For those members who haven't had the pleasure of attending this event in the past I will advise that this isn't our most family friendly event; as it surely falls more into the "boys weekend" category
but eveyone is welcome
