I thought I would open this link to get some input and coordination on the upcoming MLK weekend.

Here are some general questions for everyone. Please post your input:

Who's going?

When are we leaving?

Where are we staying?

How much is it to stay there?

Who is needing to link up in enroute?

Is there an established schedule of events?

-Me, most likely riding with Virgo.
-Noonish, from Clemson.
-Sleeping on a nice comfy spot of floor in the chalet courtesy of David.
-As I understand it the 3 guys in the 3 bedrooms are paying and the rest can crash as needed, I imagine a donation of some kind would be appreciated.
-We're planning on meeting David enroute in Walhalla to start the convoy and also so we can get into the chalet when reaching Tellico.
-Heard nothing of schedule other then drinking, pool tourney, and wheeling will all be incorporated into the schedule at some point.

I am coming from NC and don't know of anyone else from here planning to attend.

Could meet up with you guys again at the Subway on the corner in Murphy on Friday anytime - like we did in August.

Touched base with David in his thread and am planning on the sleeping bag / free space route at the rental unit.

Looking forward to it!!

I guess I will meeet up with the guys in Halla. I have no time on when I leave. I guess we will have to wait until JP gets back on Sunday to find out more details.

I plan on staying on the floor or available couch.

I will bring the smoker and 6-8 boston butts, bbq sauce, buns, slaw, and baked beans and all fixing for everyone dinner meal saturday night. I'd suggest we do something simple Friday night like Buffalo Wings which are cheap. ( I have a big fryer for that ) then we buy a bunch of sandwich meat and hotdogs or something for lunch. Let everybody fix there own lunch. And have a couple people in charge of breakfast for two mornings and a couple of people in charge of cleaning up.

Just some thoughts.

To answer the above:
Lynn, Scout and I will be going.
We are leaving around lunch time Friday so as to
make Tellico Plains by dark. Check-in anytime after lunch
on Friday. Staying till Monday morning.
Staying at the Riversong Chalet . This is on the Tenn side of Upper Tellico. http://tellicovacations.com/property-Riversong.php
Cost was a little under $600. Those who want one
of the 3 bedrooms split cost 3 ways. I'm in for one.
The drop dead NO REFUND on my card to Sandra ( owner)
is 1/1/06. LOL.....I'm going come rain or come shine. Pun intended. :)
Steve and JP , Alan and I would appear to be the 3 bedrooms.
All the rest can donate to the Upstate Cruiser's fund jar. Couch
fold outs with at least 1 trundle bed and plenty of floor space.
Bring your own towels. Two bathrooms with showers.
Pool tourney/hot tubin'/events details upon arrival.
I'll bring my Bose boom box for tunes. Bring your favorite CDs.
I'll bring Constant Sorrow ....a.k.a. our theme song.
Also bring your trail tapes and CDs for nightly entertainment shows.
For those wishing to hook up ...SPEAK UP. We'll pick ya'll up as we caravan
the from Pickens to Wahalla, to Westminister, to Long Creek, to Clayton,
to Hiawassee to Murphy. I'll probably do Trail # 1 to the Chalet.
I'm stoked.
Let's get a head count!
Do you think any of the non-Upstate Cruiser guys coming would like to
stay with us at Riversong?
As far as I'm concerned.....the more the merrier!
Let's get this party started.

GREAT ideas Trollhole! We'll buy groceries in Murphy as a group.
That way we can decide on menu plans as a group then shop.
Smoker and butts! Holy Cow! Yummy! Club Chef does it again!
I'll bring my usual prime cut of beef for one night, but, that's just for me. ;)
WARNING: SEMI DRY Country....NO liquor....limited  choices.
BYOB...before we get there

If you guys can give me a rough estimate on your arrival into Murphy, I'd like to meet up with the group there since I'll be coming from a different direction.

If anyone has a hankerin for some venison, I can do a stew, spaghetti sauce, chili, etc. one night. Always good on cold nights! Just let me know.

I'm in for sure. If I were not to get there I will pick up my third of the cabin. In my Will Alex gets the bedroom. I plan on trailering the 40 and caravan with David and Troll. I will take the long route as I did @GSMTR unless I can find a spot in Murphy to park the trailer. Trail #1 is too much for my truck and equipment. I will help with the cost of food as needed and bring paper products and cups/spoons/forks/knives. Will do anything as JP assigns tasks. Thanks Marshall for doing the BBQ, sounds good.Gundy, please advise departure time for our hook-up. Glad to here Mrs. Gundy is going. This crowd needs all the class it can get!:grinpimp:

MLK Winterfest plans

I'm thinking going the highway route with Hard40 from Murphy
might be the way to go this year. I note from our last excursion that
Alan arrived there almost as fast and with a lot less stress. ;)
I also like the idea of keeping the caravan together.....just in case. :)
Anyway, we can all decide route from Murphy once in Murphy.
I'll check my dockets first thing next Tuesday and see if I can get
that Friday off. If I can, I'm up for EARLY depature. How about you guys?
Early departure Ok?
I'll post a.s.a.p. a departure from Pumpkintown time and an e.t.a.
to Murphy.
MLK Winterfest is going to be a Hoot!

Early departure souds good. If everyone does not mind the longer but smoother ride from Murphy could be the best. It certainly works for me.
