Hey all,

This might be a long shot, but I am driving cross country and am a few thousand miles from home. My passenger side inner CV boot recently tore and I am looking for some space to replace it in Missoula Montana, or nearby.

I have all the tools and a replacement axle, but only a bottle jack, and it would be nice to not have to yank this axle with only a bottle jack supporting the truck.

I am willing to offer payment for your troubles. All the mechanics nearby are booked until next week it seems.

What is your timing like, can the vehicle still be driven or is all the grease gone?

If you can get north of Flathead lake Northridge Automotive can maybe sneak you in but the holiday week isn't helping. I have jack stands but a gravel driveway , and well I'm not in missoula so I suppose that does you no good unless you can drive.

Worst case, it sound like you know what you're doing, could be that guy who buys jack stands and does all his work in the autozone parking lot lol

I called Autozone (whom I purchased the axle from), and they said NO haha. I guess it's better to ask forgiveness than permission. I don't want to step on any toes in a town I'm not from. I just shot rkymtnflyfisher a PM. I'm still in a driveable condition, for now.

I hear that , but a torn apart truck parked in Missoula being worked on wouldn't be that out of the ordinary lol

If you find yourself further north i have pavement at my work parking lot as well . Colombia falls.

I was thinking the same thing, heck you could just set a tent up next to the rig and nobody would blink an eye at it.
