Hey V8 and cooling gurus......here's a clip from E-bay on buy for a Mishimotor aluminum radiator. Is this a good buy or not??? Has any body used one of these?????

Thank Jason

I've heard good things about mishimoto, but I just brought a champion 3 core alum for half that price. I don't see why it wouldn't work fine for a v8 swap.

I'm using my stock radiator with Derale fans. Cools nicely. Never gets above 205

I have one cooling my stock motor, it does an awesome job.

How long have you been running the aluminum radiator. Is your cruiser a daily driver ???? Do you run it with the extra strain of AC. How does it do going up the I-17 up into the high country??????

Thanks Jason

I do daily drive it most days. I haven't taken it up north, but it runs extremely cool on the highway. I off road nearly every weekend in it, and it'll crawl in 4-low, in 115+ heat with the A/C on and never get over 200, verified by an infrared temp gauge. It's also a 100% perfect fit. Absolutely zero modifications in my 62.

But I should also clarify, I didn't have any overheating issues with the CSF radiator I pulled out of it either though. It was just old and started to leak.

Yep.....that where my CSF radiator is. It's starting to lack. My cruiser is my daily driver so I have to keep an eye on the leak on water/coolant level. I got to pull the trigger on an aluminum radiator or go with the old school Brass radiator because I have my deer hunt coming up in three weeks.

Another bonus of the Mishimoto is lifetime warranty. Even lifetime accident coverage. So if you Jam a tree branch through it on a hunting trip, they replace it free of charge.

Cool beans !!!!!! Anybody know the life expectancy of the aluminum radiators ????? A couple of years or decades????? Jason

Decades. Especially with a lifetime warranty.

Yep I'm going to to get a Mishimotor radiator!!!! However here is the bad news...........l have made two attempts at getting Mishimotor radiator through two different distributors on e-bay. I Was able to talk to one of the distributors and Mishimotor representative and that say they are currently out of radiator for the FJ60 until the end of November. December first is when they producing more FJ60 radiators.

But here is detail of the radiator is the part number and it showing a wide range of years. The e-bay add says it good for the I-4, V-6 and the 4.0 liter I-6 engines. So my question is to those that have put a Mishimotor radiator in there FJ60;
1) was it a drop in replacement ? Did all the mounting holes line up ?????
2) if there was any modifications needed for instillation what were they?????

Thanks Jason

Here's a picture of my completely in stall of Mishimotor aluminum radiator. Pulling out of the old copper and brass 3.5 hours. I order the radiator off from Amazon on November 12th. Finally received the radiator on December 21st. Pissed me off Amazon uses a third party to supply with Mishimotor aluminum radiation. Why can't Amazon buy directly from Mishimotor or have supply on hand.

Final job was a complete bolt in. Right down to the electrical fan shoud.

Should do about 50 miles of driving and see how it holds up to a long drive. The new normal seems to be the first quarter of the white arc.

I need to do this. For some reason my TD will not stay cool just running down the highway in summer. It has to be like 90 and above though.

Never had overheating issues with my 4.8 vortec using stock Lexus gs300 radiator though. I imagine you'll be fine.
