Hello,

Does anyone know where the out mirror control ecm is located at on a 1998 LC?

Have looked every place, can not find it.

mine is located in the driver's side door...facing the inside door panel it should be in the upper right.

that said, mine is an '01 lx...my assumption is your would be the same as it's the same body style.

might be good if someone else could confirm.

Thanks mankind......I currently have both door panels off waiting for my door-lock motors to arrive for replacement.

I looked inside and out side the door and there is no mirrior ecm. Cruiser parts say that its in the same place as well. So, This is not on the door, I have been looking below the dash for this m-ecm (on cruiser site they show an orange color box for m-ecm) but the only orange box is the door-lock ecm.

I am starting to think that the body control ecm also controls the mirror function as well as the rear wiper, there is an issue with the rear wiper.... that will not shut off.

I had found that one of (pan down and up feature not working and acting funky) the contacts in the mirror swicth was burnt up. I found this when I took it apart to inspect.
When I had put the switch back together, I purposely put together backwards to see if the pan down feature would work.

Doing this I had blown a fuse for the mirror, around the same time is when the rear wiper began to stay on all the time.

Check for this, adjacent to the mirror control switch. Also check for a frayed/shorted wiring harness by the door hinge.

It must be above the door lock ecm. Did not see this color box. will check on this.
The wires in both doors look good so far.

hoser, do you by chance have seat memory in your LX470??

I ask because I do not have this ecm on the inside or out side of the door. Maybe this ecm is for auto pan down for selecting reverse and or for seat memory feature.

Following the wire from the mirror its self right into the wiring harness.

Looking up into the dash I do not see this color ecm box, will be taking the lower panel down for a better look.

I do have memory seats but I think yours should have the mirror module as well.

Well, took off the lower drivers side panel there is no outer mirror control or on the door.

Any other place to look?

While driving back from camping yesterday I kept catching a flash in my mirror. It drove me nuts and I kept looking at my mirror and nothing. Then I caught it doing a "click" I was tired and been driving for for four hours and tired. So I rolled down my window and put my finger on the glass to feel it, nothing. I pulled in and reset the mirror thinking I had hit it. Then after staring at it and driving off the road I found that it clicks about every 7 seconds.

So what's odd is I have my switch out after replacing my lower panel during the throttle cable install.

So it must be this module?

I didn't notice it today though. So maybe it's me. Lol. Fawk!
