Anyone familiar with Mike Wood and his electronic book on modifying a cruiser for expeditions?

Looks like one hell of a sleeping platform design. I hate to be one of the 4 people who can sleep on it though.

For $8 can you go wrong?

I know, I'm cheap these days :o. We just closed on a house yesterday so we're saving all our pennies for renovations. I just want to make sure it's more than a few photos like many of those e-books on ebay. But it looks legit, plus he's a cruiser guy so you can't go wrong, right?

I don't know, after looking at the photos again, it looks like the cool features on the platform are just cut-outs so it will clear his cage as it hinges. Other than that it looks pretty simple.... I thought it was set up to be a cargo barrier too (that would be neat), but it's just a photo of mid-flip.

The huge box hanging off the back of the truck (and blocking the taillights?) in the one photo doesn't instill too much hope for stupendousness, but again, $8.

I wonder what he is contemplating in the photo? Arby's or Wendy's?

I bought it. Since it was cheap - 2 latte's - I can't complain really, but I wouldn't recommend it for a MUD member. Many of his recommendations are covered in one or more of the forums on here. A few are unique (dual radio's for example). It's a great list of what worked for one guy, for his needs, and it's a quick 50 page read for 8 bucks. A movie costs more than that, so no biggie...

The pics are not that good, that was a disappointment. Specifically, I was looking for better pics of his drawer system. For an ebook, he could have provided pics with better lighting and in a larger size.

My 2 cents...

BTW - his 62 is up for sale on ebay.

Toyota Trail has the plans from Mike Wood on how to build a platform in this months issue.

Most of his stuff has already been posted many times BUT it makes a great item on the shelf and a great help to new comers:)
