At least i think it's a premium based on wood inserts in the steering wheel.

I called the dealership today and asked about the timing cover and valley plate. The used cars manager called me back (it is a toyota dealer) and said they're aware of the known issues, so they checked for both and he said there was no coolant around the valley plate, and not a drop of oil near the timing cover).

I'm concerned that i don't know what else really to look for. I don' tknow if it has AHC or not (would prefer not, right?) or KDSS (standard?)

Sorry for all the stupidity. i come from a 100, then an 80, and the "known" issues are pretty easy to find guides on. Also i will hopefully be paying below what they're asking (working on a deal now)

Anything i should be asking/checking? does the 4 owners give anyone pause? Should i hold out for a post face-lift model?

That is a good price. Not sure about the version. Get on the lexus owner's website with the VIN. That will tell you everything. You will have to make an account, but that is free.

Mine is 2013 Base and it has the wood inserts. I paid $22,000 for mine with 80k miles, but it was 2 owner and had full service records. Very much a grocery getter until I got it. All GX 460 have KDSS.

Yes this is a base it looks like. From the history it seems taken care of well. I've just been kinda caught off guard with the last 2buswd vehicles I purchased so I don't want that to happen again.

I had to put in a radiator and deal with some deferred grease application on the drive shaft yokes. The AC/Heater fan is a little noisy. That said it took me over 700mi through back roads of TN and will do the same in AR this coming March. Ditched a Jeep to get this and would not go back.

EVeryone gets excited about how reliable these are, but I have never owned a Toyota like this before so I can't say or advise. So far I'm really happy with it.

BTW, you should put that 470 on Cars and Bids. They sell for ridiculous money on there.
