I am going to do the trail sometime in last week of August if you are interested please let me know. I am sorry I upset all the important folks here and caused a possible dammage to the OHV community. If you are interested in wheeling the rubicon with me that week, come prepared and let's have a good time. Again I am sorry for posting the wrong thing the wrong way, I apologize to you all. In retrospect it was irresponsible and I will give it more thought before posting an event. Again this ins an informal invite for those wha want to tag along and have run the trail before and know what they will need in terms of gear and vehicle.

when was Spider Lake opened up for camping again?

is this some kind of joke?

All applicable organized trail event rules apply.

Do you know what this means?

Have you read the organized event rules for TLCA, CAL4WD or any other event? There is a lot of stuff that going into one of these and a lot of rules that must be followed. "No alcoholic beverages on the trail" is the first that pops into my mind.

Minimum Tire size restriction, Technical Inspection of each vehicle, Safety Gear inspection of each vehicle, etc. Insurance for an Official Run, etc.

words don't mean anything...

this is a real run but not an "organized" event - please disregard my mistakes and accept my apologies.

we will obey all restrictions - including those on camping etc. I will confirm a final itinerary once the information is available from the local authorities.

so you made up the part about camping at Spider Lake?

do you know the restrictions or not?

what do you mean ONCE information is available from the local authorities? the information is available now.
do you not know where to find the information?

another thing.

I think it's highly irresponsible to imply that people running 33s and open diffs can easily run the trail.
sure, it can be done, but not without the high probability of damage.

larger tires are suggested for a reason. lockers are suggested for a reason.
the trail changes all the time. although you might've thought it easy the last time you went through, you might not be so lucky next time.

insurance? Not needed for an informal "hey you guys lets go wheeling on Saturday". Is needed for a formal "I'm gonna run the Rubicon 5 months from now and promote the idea on a web forum where the entire world can see it" run. Don't screw this up. It would only hurt the OHV community in general and the LandCruiser community in particular.

on second thought...you know...

I don't care.
run the event you want.
those attending who don't know and follow your advice will learn...

be sure to take lots of pictures to include in your write up.
it should be amusing reading.

I'm sure to glean several chuckles from said write up as well..................
