Does anyone have experience with these tires .I've heard they are pretty good on the road and take forever to wear out but I'm wondering about the performance off the road in various terrains. From what I can tell they're a pretty hard compound and don't flex that well . Any opinions ?

Michelin X series

I have gove WAY out of my way to run these tires and I love them. I had some XMLs (38x13) on my Excursion for 50K and now have XLs (38x9.5) on it. On my Cruiser I have 8.25R16 XZLs (34x9).

My simple philosophy is that the best tire manufacturer (Michelin) was funded by Uncle Sam to design and build a combat tire that is vehicle specific. What more can you ask for?

I run the 650R16 XZL on my 25. I think it performs damn well, I've never seen a tougher or better built tire. Foxfab got a set of XL's for his 25.

And Justin I'd like to get a set in 825R16, if you have a source can you let me know? :D

Xzl

I keep hooks in the water for these tires and get VERY few bites. I have one set available. All are 8.25R16 XZLs - one has about 90% and the other three are 50%. They are on wheels and hold a consistent 65 psi (no holes).

Call me if interested.

Those are some good looking tires

403 204 8800 is the number to call:beer:

xl's are the softest compound of the three, i would not reccomend running them on a street vehicle. cheap to free and lots available then maybe.

I am in desparate need of a full set of 7.50x16 XC(4)'s for my 88" Series III Rover. I like the XL's better - more aggressive and same quality - but have only been able to find them from a Belgium supplier, which makes shipping kill the deal (the irony being that my son is in Brussels for a month - lot of good it does me).

If anyone has a lead on any of these in a 7.50 - please please please PM me!

Does anybody know of a US. supplier for a 6.50r16 tire. All tire manufactures' make them.

Yeah - I'd seen that link before, but no 7.50's were listed. Wouldn't hurt for me to just call. The set I have now are awesome - and I've heard they're good for near 100,000 miles or less.

Good call!

Given that the copyright on that page is from 2002, I would guess that they don't keep the stock up to date. I'd call (450-424-2399) too.

Michele at Army Military Tires can also get 825r16 xzl...which are 34" tires....as well as the smaller 650 and larger 900, and 1100...

there are also available in various "tread left" 75% and 60% for a large savings.

its been quite awhile sine i talked to Michele...but...he was a really good person to deal with
