SILVER Star
Daughter has an F350 (crew cab long bed 4x4 with 7.3L diesel) with a year-old set of the (apparently being phased out?) "old" Michelin LTX MS2's on it in 285/75/16, load range E. One tire has a non-patchable hole, with visible belt.
Michelin apparently doesn't make this venerable tire anymore, and has replaced it with the Defender LTX. Similar tread pattern, same E load rating.
Would you feel comfortable mixing 3 old and 1 new of this different type on a truck that tows 5,000-8,000 lbs on a regular basis?
I'm starting to regret not getting her some M-55's from the get-go. She's on gravel roads frequently. There was no way those Michelins were going to last anywhere near the warranty mileage.
What says the MUD experts?
