mice can live on the rat bait blocks, for some reason it wont kill them and they take it and stash it, we found they stashed it in our oven along with some peanuts(that we feed the squirrels)......we noticed when the nuts started to catch fire. In the back of the oven were left overs of the bait blocks. No more nice in the house, but a few get into the crawl space....from where i dunno, been working for 15 years sealing up access points but they can get thru a tiny space.

as per the other rodent post, get some Victor electronic rat or mice zappers........they work VERY well and you can keep a body count.

Victor is having a sale today I think, 3 of the big rat traps(the D cell not C cell size) for $99 shipped. If you just have mice, just get the mouse zapper

steel wool works well to stuff in small voids to keep them out

Here's the screen cover I made for the "port of entry". It's needed on both sides.

Oh, thank you! I will check that area for mouse entry. I think I may have the same problem with a rodent as others mentioned. I have examined all other aspects of my vehicle and everything is functioning normally. Yet, I have the "passenger side cold air problem" and I did see mouse evidence just before it started. I didn't connect the two things because the vehicle is driven daily and I presumed the mouse was just a one time visitor.

Brought the LX in for a service and CEL came on at same time. The culprit(s)? Mice apparently built a nest and began snacking on the knock sensor wires. Lexus say 5 hours labour to repair! Am currently freezing them out...

Screen on air intake would be good idea, as well as under windshield HVAC vent.

Is this the only access to fresh air vent?

I've never pulled a fender, and have wondered if there is any other way in from below.

I don't know for certain, but it seems unlikely that there would be access anywhere else. The airbox inside is open only at the fresh air intake and the ductwork runs from that directly to the screened area along the back of the hood. However, mice have teeth and they use them, so I suppose it's possible they create their own way in.
