I was on rockauto.com and just out of curiosity I wanted to see if they offered SPC adjustable upper control arms for the 200. They offer a brand that is adjustable called Mevotech. When you click on the picture of the part, it shows clearly stamped SPC on the ball joint. They are selling them separately for $220 a piece. See pics below:

That's a pretty good price. SPC is the only UCA I've seen with the hard mount for the LX AHC adjuster.

It looks like those are the old style SPC arms that are re-branded by Mevotech. These use the older style ball joints that were prone to failure and do not use the new greasable upper balljoints that include a zerk fitting up top.

Even at that price you can replace the ball joints with the updated design (if they don’t come with the zerks) for less than a new set at the cost of $650 and have a spare set just in case.

My dealership tends to have the new, (regularly / now expected) spc on hand, for much less than 650. Then they install as well, of course...or maybe im thinking of the 100 pricing spc uca... either way, i had them put them on both the 100 & 200 and the 100 ran 525, iirc. No arguments.

Has anyone purchased these, and can you confirm the model? Here's some discussion on an FJ forum - even though the stock photo shows the old style tubular arms and bushings, the product was the new style SPC arms:

Can anyone confirm if the current the Rock Auto MEVOTECH upper control arms are the same? I am looking to purchase some, but the price seems too good to be true. How can you tell the difference between old style SPC and new style SPC?

What's the return policy?

I haven't tried them but I will say that I got my new style SPC arms on sale for about $530 IIRC a few years back. These would appear to be $440 for a pair, so cheaper but not hugely cheaper. It's my understanding from the Tundra forums that SPC sold off their old design and that other companies are manufacturing and selling that.

I actually just talked to SPC directly and found out they are legit. He said they used to sell the old stock control arms, but all of that inventory has been sold off. He also told me that they won't be available under the Mevotech name much longer due to the confusion it is creating with their name brand.

I took a chance and ordered a set, I will report back once I get them.

i ordered a set of mevotech from rockauto and received them today and they look to be the old style ball joint without the zerk fitting. Anyone know where i can get the new style ball joints?
