Metal fatigue crack in right front wheel well

Aircraft owner here. Before you do anything else, stop drill the crack. That should buy you a few years.
That's why we should see the end of the crack. It might be that it is cracked all the way to the top of the panel already.

Regarding rust caused by welding - you first prime the metal and then spot weld. Then finish the exposed sides.

Pretty sure that portion of the body is tubular and there wouldn't be access to the other side of the panel to finish bare surfaces.

Yeah, there is a fairly big opening on the other side.

After you weld it up could spray fluid film or some cavity wax should protect it.
